  • Valencia have won four of their last seven matches against Osasuna.
  • Valencia have won eight of their 15 home games this season.
  • Valencia are unbeaten at home this season.
  • Both teams have scored in 67% of Valencia’s home games this season.

Valencia are yet to lose at home this season

Valencia lost 3-0 away at Real Madrid in midweek and now sit 8th in the La Liga table, while Osasuna were thrashed 5-0 in their own backyard by Atletico Madrid last time out but sit 10pts above the drop zone heading into this weekend’s fixtures.

The last time these two sides met Osasuna had the home advantage and claimed all 3pts courtesy of a 3-1 win in October but Valencia have had the better of Sunday’s guests in recent seasons, picking up four wins from the duo’s last seven meetings. Valencia have 8pts more on the board than Osasuna as things stand and haven’t lost a single home game in La Liga this season.

The visitors don’t score many goals on their travels

Our prediction for a home win this weekend is not only backed up by the recent head to head record between these two clubs, but also by the fact that the hosts are yet to lose at home this season, securing eight wins at the Estadio de Mestalla. Osasuna have only won three games on their travels this season and have only scored 15 goals in 14 matches on the road.

Valencia have scored 24 goals at home this season, netting the first goal in 12 of their 15 home matches, but have only kept clean sheets in 33% of those games. Both teams have scored in 67% of the hosts home matches as well as in 57% of the visitors away trips and Valencia have managed to find the back of the net in every home game so far this season.

A clean sheet for either team looks unlikely this weekend

In terms of a final scoreline, we have predicted a 2-1 win for Valencia as the hosts score an average of 1.60 goals per home game and only concede 0.87 goals, while Osasuna score an average of 1.07 goals per away game. When these two sides meet goals usually flow, with six of the pair’s last seven meetings producing over 2.5 goals, tying in nicely with our prediction for a 2-1 final score this Sunday.
