Madejski Stadium will host the Championship game between Reading and Preston, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the standings. Nobody expected that the Royals would be leading the chase for automatic promotion after nine rounds, but it is more than obvious that Veljko Paunovic is doing a great job with the Madejski Stadium outfit. Despite suffering a 3-2 loss to Coventry City at the weekend, Reading remained in top position in the standings, four points clear of second-place Swansea.
The Lilywhites, on the other hand, suffered yet another dip in form in the Championship, with the team losing to both Millwall and Birmingham City in the previous two league fixtures. However, Preston have been producing fine displays on the road of late, and we predict that they will find the net in Wednesday’s clash against Reading, who were anything but impressive at the back in the 3-2 defeat to Coventry.
