The capital club have been producing fine showings in Segunda Division after the coronavirus football break, but they are one point behind the playoffs berth ahead of Matchday 35. Rayo aim to build on a performance in a 3-3 draw with Deportivo La Coruna, and they are likely to go for a win in Thursday’s football match.
Experienced attacker Juan Villar scored a brace at the weekend, meaning that the opposition defenders should have him at bay. Sporting Gijon did well to defeat Alcorcon in their last away game in the Spanish second tier, but beating Rayo Vallecano in the suburbs of Madrid is easier said than done. Even though the match will be played behind closed doors, we are tempted to put our money on los Vallecanos as they have been impressive in front of goal of late.
