A spot in the Champions League third qualifying round will be at stake when Legia and Omonia square off against each other at Stadion Wojska Polskiego. The Polish champions failed to impress in a 1-0 win over Linfield, but thanks to Kante’s late goal they eventually set up a meeting with Omonia in round 2. Legia boss has a number of foreign players to choose from, and we are positive that they will produce a much better display this time out.
Omonia are the dominant force in the Cyprus elite division, but we do not believe that they are capable of matching Legia in Warsaw. Henning Berg’s men were anything but impressive in the 1-0 win over Ararat-Armenia in round 1, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered. This will be the first encounter between the two clubs in European competitions.
