Togo
After failing to win their first two group games, Egypt will be looking to register their first win in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers when they face Togo on Saturday. The Pharaohs are the most successful team in the AFCON finals, but they will have to prove their worth on the field in the qualifier against Togo. The likes of Taher Mohamed Taher, Akram Tawfik, Ahmed Ayman Mansour and El-Madhy Soliman did not make the cut, while Mohamed Sherif has received his first call-up.
As always, all eyes will be on Mohamed Salah, who is enjoying yet another successful season in the Premier League. Aston Villa attacker Mahmoud Trezeguet could play an important role in Saturday’s qualifier as well. Since the likes of Djene, Dossevi, Sunu, and Fo-Doh Laba are the most notable names in the away team, we are tempted to put our money on Egypt, who are desperate to get back on course.
